About the event
Rhizome is an exhibition of second-year students of Photography and Multimedia of the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. The presented works were created in 2023 and 2024 while exploring the possibilities of photographic staging. By orbiting around the issue of entropy, we created images of new worlds at their end. Broadly understood decay became an incentive to work with matter, which is a tool for creating immersive spaces in the photo studio. The resulting works illustrate various visions of the end. Each glance is, as it were, another node in the looped rhizome of entropy. Decay can be understood as the creation of a new building material, and in such a context, a set of images is a collection of moments preceding a new beginning.
