About the event

The exhibition “Nothing Human Is Alien to Us” offers a perspective on the human being through the lens of their relationship with animals - not those that coexist alongside them, but those subject to human will and decision-making.


The animal as the Other - a non-human antagonist, the opposite of what is human, constituted in language as cattle, beast, animal - becomes entirely dependent on human will, and thus subordinate, inferior, and less significant.


The author takes humanism as the starting point for her reflections - a movement that glorifies human nature and gives rise to anthropocentrism.
